Autumn theme

A major theme for this coming term is Autumn where we will be learning about nature's natural cycle that means that both flora and fauna demonstrate changes and actions as they head towards the colder winter months.

Examples of our Autumnal educational opportunities:

• Colours - prime colours, shades of colours, comparisons, lighter
• Nature's changes and why - flora E.g. leaves falling, types of trees (deciduous and evergreen)
• Nature's changes and why - fauna E.g. different animals, collection and storage of food, habitats, hibernation, warmth vs cold
• Climate - temperature, weather
  
• Self awareness and care - clothing, warmth, dry
  
• Artwork - Creating pictures and creative images E.g. Andrew Goldsworthy 
• Mathematics - counting, sorting, sizes, masses/weights
• Literacy - hibernation, habitats, tree names, animal names, lifecycles, reading, writing, drawing, painting, mark making
  
• Fine motor skills - finger gym activities
  
• Gross motor skills - playing, carrying, building
