After kindergarten (Monkton Farleigh - Wiltshire)
Your child's educational journey is key to their future happiness, health, well-being, achievements and successes. It starts with the foundations from as early as their time in the womb to birth, through early years and on. Our belief is that your child can learn anywhere and at anytime. The most important thing is that they are interested in learning. That means it must be relevant and it must be fun.
We aim to create a positive, caring and supportive environment that strengthens your child's foundations, providing them with a thirst for learning and a spirit of adventure where they are inspired to lead a life of discovery. We take an inclusive approach that welcomes all children and through delivering our ethos and values we aim to inspire every child.
We cannot endorse other organisations for their delivery of inspirational learning as it really is dependent on your child as well as the school's style, ethos, values, culture, community, teaching staff, friendship opportunities, learning approach, environment, resources and so on. Every child is unique and each will be inspired by different environments, different people and different experiences. Therefore the next steps after kindergarten are always a choice, weighing up all the circumstances, pros and cons. We have many children visiting Woodland Adventurers that go on to mainstream schools, many that go to independent schools and increasingly more that are choosing legitimate alternative pathways such as home education.
To be clear, we will support you and your child with all options for their next steps beyond kindergarten. In doing so our target is to enable all children to meet the minimum requirements for "school readiness", although we aim far higher - academically, socially, physically, and more. Our approach aims to support your child in a rounded way, in all areas of their development.
If you would like to discuss your child's next steps after kindergarten then do let us know and we will always try to assist.

Home education
You can teach your child at home, full or part-time (‘home schooling’), but tell the school and your local council if you’re taking them out of school. As a parent, you must make sure your child receives a full-time education from the age of 5 but you don’t have to follow the national curriculum.
